What's Fresh

Beets are a great 2-fer!  The greens can be used fresh in salads, steamed or stir-fried while the beets themselves (yes, they come in colors!) can be served separately either hot or cold after cooking till soft.  This is the time to get them and this is the climate to grow them so we’ve got the best!

Interested in becoming a vendor? Read on!
The Bainbridge Farmers Market is a truly local market; we offer products that are grown or made in Kitsap County. The Bainbridge Market is first and foremost a farmers’ market; we give priority to farmers and farm products. The rules of the market clearly spell out the guidelines used in admitting new vendors to the Market. Please review them carefully before submitting your application.

A FEW KEY POINTS:
(see rules for complete details)

  1. All products sold at the Market must be approved by the BIFMA Board of Directors. Craft products are subject to jury review prior to approval.
  2. Only handmade, homemade or homegrown products, produced or harvested by the Vendor can be sold at the Market.
  3. All farm products must be grown or produced by the Vendor on Bainbridge Island or North Kitsap (as defined by school district boundaries).
  4. All Craft, Processor and Concessionaire Vendors must reside on Bainbridge Island.
  5. For a vendor to be considered a Farmer, at least 50% of gross sales of his or her merchandise must be a farm product.
  6. All processed foods and baked goods must be prepared by the Vendor from raw ingredients. The Vendor must be an active owner/operator of the business and may not operate under a franchise agreement.
  7. No commercially manufactured craft products, even if hand-decorated, will be permitted.
  8. Rule of Two: The Market resolves that in order to maintain a sustainable market for the Members and the public, a baseline of two similar non-farm products in hereby established.
